Mundo Antiguo is a Spanish language school in the city of Cusco in Peru. We offer intensive language programs. The classes are small and we have a teaching method based on immersion in the language. All our teachers are native speakers and are among the best teachers in Peru. Because we know that great teachers make the difference! Cusco is the perfect place to take a Spanish course. The people speak slowly and clear, without any accents. And Cusco is an amazing place to stay for a while. The city is absolutely beautiful and there is always a lot to do. And from Cusco you can visit Machu Picchu and explore the Andes. Culture, nature and adventure all in one place! Our language school is located in the heart of the center of Cusco. When you are travelling, you´ll want a certain flexibility in your program. Mundo Antiguo understands that and offers you customized and flexible programs. Every week we offer free activities which are fun and where you can meet other international students. And we offer a lot of free services. And if you want to volunteer in Cusco, we can arrange a nice social project for you to do volunteer work. And of course you want to stay in a great accommodation during your stay in Cusco. We offer the possibility to stay in a local guest family or you can stay in one of our student apartments. Come to Cusco with us for a fun and unique learning experience!
This was an amazing experience for me. I so very much enjoyed all of the people that I encountered at this school. The teachers and staff were always attentive, supportive, and great at helping me improve my Spanish. Classes, for me, lasted 8 weeks. This 8 weeks just flew by. I was very sad to have my time at the school finally end, but I was so thankful for the people and the experience I had.
My husband and I just completed 3 weeks at Mundo Antiguo in August. Despite being 30-35 years older than most other students, we had a great experience! The administrative staff was excellent. They answered the many questions we had promptly and enthusiastically. Our instructors (Vanesa and Jimmy) were great! They mixed conversation with grammar and gently corrected our many mistakes. We had a couple of lessons that included walking around Cusco and learning history. They included music and playing cards in the lessons. Our Spanish improved substantially while we were there. The school has fun activities for the students including eating together at restaurants, salsa dancing, food tastings, Andean flute playing, karaoke in Spanish, and others. Ninoska was a great organizer and helped everyone feel comfortable. Our home stay was very nice. Marina cooked us delicious meals and helped us with our Spanish. Cusco is a vibrant city with lots to do and see! I highly recommend this school!
It was the best decision that I could take, to come in this school and not an other one! I started from zéro, and after 5 weeks I'm around level A2 and can talk with spanish. The teachers at the school are really nice, and like to teach in a plaesant way. Every day I could hear laughs from the classes. But it was also very intense. The school arranged me a stay in a so nice family stay. I had health issues and were my best support. And talk with me in spanish to help progressing. The school has a travel agency that comes every day one hour to book tours They also have a social coordinador, the best once. Every night activities are organized, also with local peruvianos. You can't get bored !! Muchas gracias por todo !!
I highly recommend Mundo Antiguo Spanish School, it is a great school for Spanish language program. The teachers and staff are comprehensive, awesome, encouraging, engaging including social activities with a good balance. The school also made arrangements for my home stay with my host family and I loved my stay with them. Although, my language program was short I am looking forward in the future to come back for a longer program with the school. I highly recommend the school to anyone seeking educational Spanish language program.
I would absolutely recommend Mundo Antiguo to anyone and everyone!! I had an amazing experience there. All the teachers are so skilled and friendly. My Spanish improved sooo much in just 3 weeks of classes! I liked that I got to try out different teachers, the group classes were really small, and there were many fun games/activities that made the classes more engaging. I also did a Homestay and really enjoyed my experience with that as well. The family was so kind and welcoming, made me delicious meals, and helped me practice my Spanish. All of the after school activities are really fun and a nice way to make friends with other students at the school. Overall, I think Mundo Antiguo is a really well organized Spanish school with teachers and administration staff who really care.
The teachers and activities were great! I regret not staying longer..
Great teachers, good programs, and so much fun. They made sure we practise a lot of spanish. And they are so flexible! I recommend!!
The Teachers were really nice, the classes were interesting and interactive with a focus on talking. Only 2-5 people in one class, witch makes it easy to participate. I learned a lot in only 3 weeks.
I recently spent seven weeks at Mundo Antiguo Spanish School, and I can't recommend it highly enough! The warm, welcoming atmosphere made it feel like a second home. I was thoroughly engaged with the curriculum, and the teachers—Sandra, Joan, Jaqui, Vanessa, and Miguel—along with the entire staff, were exceptional. The school also excelled in organizing activities that fostered a strong sense of community, and I made friendships that I’m sure will last. I wholeheartedly recommend Mundo Antiguo for anyone seeking a top-notch education. I'm truly grateful for my experience and look forward to returning in the future!
My experience at this school was incredible! I cannot recommend this school enough!! I took classes for 4 weeks & I learned so much! I did a combination of group & private lessons. All my teachers were great (Yaki, Vaneza, Juan Carlos, & Sandy). They offered excursions on the weekends & had daily activities through the week. We even had “field trips” every Friday to learn more about the culture etc. I also did the homestay and my host family (Milagros) was amazing & very helpful & kind! I will definitely be coming back!
We took a 3 week Spanish course here, and I don't regret it for a second! Teachers were fantastic, and the school does a great job of creating a community between teachers and between the students. There are activities to do in the evenings that help you learn about Peruvian culture, cuisine, and also foster a feeling of belonging, something I wasn't expecting. The home stay was amazing. Thanks so much to Yake, Roy, Meli, Ninoska, and our amazing home stay hosts and all the rest of the school, it was a once in a lifetime experience!
I recently took a two-week Spanish course, and it was a fantastic experience. My teacher, Juan Carlos, was outstanding, adapting his teaching methods to match my learning style, which made the lessons engaging and effective. I also enjoyed the fun after-school activities, which were a great way to practice Spanish and connect with others. I highly recommend this school for anyone looking for a personalized and immersive learning experience. Thank you, Juan Carlos, and the team for a wonderful time!
My trip to Peru was absolutely AMAZING and it was all thanks to Mundo Antiguo. They took great care and attention of our home stay, tours, and the classes were amazing. Any problem that came about, they were quick and efficient to fix. I was surprised at how quickly I was able to learn Spanish, they’re just that good! I attended the school for 5 weeks and trekked to Machu Picchu for another week; and I would do it all again! The Mundo Antiguo School is more like a family, they care about each other’s needs and they have so much fun together. I loved attending the activities put together by the school such as fruit tasting, a field trip to the zoo, and so much more. They were even so kind as to ship a package for me after I had already left back to the United States ❤️❤️ (I had gotten the address wrong). They care about ALL of their students and will make sure you are taken care of and are having the greatest time.
Really great week beyond all my expectations. Teachers are brilliant. Accomodation was spot on (and great value). Evening social activities (salsa lessons, football, language exchanges, karaoke...) are really useful for putting your new Spanish skills into practice. The school itself is slap bang in the historic centre. Classes are kept small and intimate to make sure lessons are tailored to your level. I'll definitely be back for a refresher next year!
Mundo Antiguo is an incredible place of learning and community that reaches far greater value than what you would expect at the cost. Once you get placed within your class (no more than 4 students), they've figured out a process to help you either learn the basics, advance your understanding, or remember what you've known before about not just spanish grammatically, but the practical application of it. The added bonus this school offers, is the daily (m-f) activities that are offered freely and allow students to interact and grow in their spanish speaking ability, and friendship with not just other students but the teachers and locals here in Cusco. I only took one week of class to help remind me of the basics to get around, but going to the evening events is still something they offer and you're allowed to partake in even after leaving the school (however long you're here). I can't say enough wonderful things about Mundo Antiguo, but if there's a spanish school you should pick, I 100% back and suggest you should pick this one. Thank you everyone for bringing all of us into such an incredible fellowship and community of people who care about what they do and light up when they watch you evolve and enjoy the Peruvian culture that much moreso. <3
Personally, I did not take classes here, but I was in charge of 8 students between 14 and 17 y/o who had only positive comments about thw school. Each day at least one of them would express their gratitude about their spanish teachers. While they were in class I had the opportunity to share with the administration team and I enjoyed being so well received each morning. The students mentioned many times that the teachers were super patient and encouraging, which motivated them to continue learning each day during 2 months. Can't speak well enough of our experience with the school!
I wanted to learn Spanish when travelling to South America, and having been to Cusco a couple of times before, I knew I wanted to study here. I chose the Mundo Antiguo Spanish School after reading reviews on Facebook sites and Google and was definitely not disappointed. I chose to stay with a host family to improve my Spanish further, and had such a great experience. They welcomed me into their family, and would encourage my Spanish speaking daily. Each day I would have group lessons in the afternoon which would leave the mornings free for me to explore Cusco and the surrounding areas. There were daily activities to get to know other students in the school too. At the weekends there were ample things to do in and around Cusco. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn or improve their Spanish in Cusco, and I've already booked in to return next year.
A few things stood out at Mundo Antiguo. First is that the quality of instruction is strong. The school rotates instructors so you receive different styles to enhance the learning process. Second is that the staff is very welcoming and accommodating. Lastly, the school offers activities outside of the school that provides a great cultural experience.
I spent 4 weeks at the school and registered for the immersion program which included weekend activities. It was amazing to have it organized in advance. I was in Cusco for about 5 weeks and fell in love with the culture, food, people and beauty of the city. I felt safe at all times. The school fosters a community spirit and ensured their students are well taken care in/out of the classroom. The social events are fun and include learning about the Peruvian culture. The teachers are amazing - helpful and dedicated!! I can’t believe how much Spanish I learned!! Highly recommended
I cannot speak highly enough about Mundo Antigua Spanish School. I took 2 weeks of Spanish classes in June 2024 while solo travelling in South America, and it really has been a highlight of my trip. I took group classes with 3 other students at the same level. I was able to improve my Spanish through extensive opportunities for conversation and a total bonus - made brilliant friends within the class too. Teachers were fantastic - I had Roy and Miguel, both teachers were able to explain concepts clearly and very patient when I needed extra clarification. Classes are a great mix of structured lessons, conversation, and homework. Outside of lessons I also participated in social activities -there’s a busy social calendar at the school which includes events like going for dinner, salsa, playing football, language exchange and other cultural activities. Ninoska is the social coordinator and she is so warm and welcoming and helps make the school an amazing community. I was even invited to partake in the activities a week before my classes started which helped me to form some friendships at the school. Admin staff also extremely approachable and kind and very responsive to inquiries. I loved my time here and my only regret is not staying longer - hopefully next time !!
