As per many other reviews here which regrettably i've only come across since falling foul of using Launa myself. Had a recent composite front door installation done by Launa and their subby fitters and surveyors. Door leaked rain water within 48 hours of installation. Wrong sealant used do it just turned to mushy putty within same time frame. Took weeks to get someone out to look at it. Surveyor sent out who agreed door was installed poorly and frame was warped at top and bottom like a banana causing the poor seal and water leaks. Said he would advise Launa that a new frame was needed and bottom sill had been installed incorrectly. Launa disagreed with their own surveyor's findings(?!) and sent the original fitter back out who insisted door only needed adjusting. He also commented "I hear the surveyor's been gobbing off". Due to warped frame it is already at it's max range of adjustment and the fitter has simply has just botched it with no interest in actually doing a good job. Now, one week on, door handle needs to be forced to close properly and we can still feel a draft from the front door. I'm no longer entertaining the above sort of service and will be taking action via legal routes to pursue a rebate of the £1700-ish in outlay for this shambles.
Six years on and a locking window handle stuck in locked position. Contacted Network Britannia and was told the ten year warranty doesn't cover window handles despite the original Launa contract saying the ten year warranty covers the windows and their components (are locking window handles not window components?) and that I would have to pay a £107.10 service charge. Needless to say, I declined and, after searching the net for instructions, fitted a replacement myself. So disappointing after the excellent work carried out by Launa in fitting the windows. OK, so the replacement wasn't expensive, I had the required tools and was able to release the lock to get at the lower fixing screw thanks to a video on Youtube, but it's the principle (or lack of it) that warrants this one star review
Customer service is terrible. Mistakes with installation dates and constant reminders about payment when payments were made. It was very stressful to deal with them, however doors and windows appeared to be installed well.
Agreed a date and time to come and quote - they didn't turn up. No communications.
Customer service is non existent. They didn’t stick to delivery date they promised. They are a very difficult company to deal with. Saying that, the fitters who came were brilliant and the French doors are exactly what we ordered and look good. To conclude good product poor service.
An excellent service, so far. The rep (Elliot) who came round to visit and give a quote was on time, polite, very helpful & friendly. Elliot has given me a competitive quote which was fully explained and has left me time to think about my next decision. I will give it all some thought and reply in a couple of days. Great service, many thanks. Paul
I ordered a new conservatory (windows and roof, keeping existing brickwork) in September 2021. A very helpful salesman, Terry, came within a few days, and we had a quote within a week and a surveyor visit within another week. We approved the surveyor’s designs which arrived promptly, and paid a deposit. We received a free insurance policy after the deposit. My only criticism of Launa Windows was that we then heard nothing whatsoever from them until 4 months later, when they contacted us to agree a fitting date. It would have been reassuring to have a few emails while waiting, updating us on progress. Also at this point all the bills came at once, during the fitting week, whereas they had said they would invoice us for further payments along the way while we were waiting. However I haven’t knocked off a star, mostly because of Lynn in the office, Tristan the fitter and Dave the electrician! Together they made the whole experience really good. I have never seen anyone work as hard as Tristan, he put in 5 very long days, not finishing until late as needed, and he was so helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The end result is excellent, and the few very minor issues we noticed on completion (Friday) were remedied on Monday just 2 hours after I called Lynn to report them! Unbelievably good customer service. Dave the electrician also did an excellent job, and Lynn in the office was friendly and professional. All in all, I would recommend Launa, and would choose them again.
My husband passed away 15 months. I asked Launa to make me a double glazed lead window of my husband last fishing trip. 💖What an amazing job they did. They captured the photo so well. A great big Thank you
Don't bother we had windows front door and conservatory. Windows and door where fine it took over a year to get the conservatory. Lack of communication taking g weeks to reply back. They didn't order the glass coyseing more delays and didn't won't to hear any of my complaints just wanted there money even if there mistakes cost me money in storage so on. Left site in a state fitters left site when we wernt home so no chance to point out things they hadn't done. Do not bother.
First of all its important to know that I won't hold back on being critical, but where praise is due then I'll give it. This review can be nothing but praise for the whole team from start to finish. Due to Covid there was a delay all round, so the fitting of our new conservatory roof was heading for very wet times. John and I agreed a start day, but also agreed if it was forecast rain that we could move it. On the day I rang him to say a no go as heavy rain imminent. Not a problem and they were on their way too. Ian and Seth arrived later in the week and job done in 1 1/2 days nearly, they had new roof on in one day, very professional job. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the company.
Everything seemed to go OK until install day, I ordered a new front door and the sales person didnt complete the paperwork correctly so the office assumed the options we wanted for glass positioning and we this wasn't apparent until our current door was ripped out. When we called to complain to the installation manager he was very defensive and we were asked to speak with the sales person to literally argue it out with them despite the fact the sales person couldnt do anything. Launa in the end offered to replace the door but I agreed a discount instead as I wasn't confident in them getting it right. The door does seem good quality (just not what we ordered) and the fitters were great
I would honestly never, ever recommend using Launa windows ever. We had our doors and windows installed 2 years ago, absolutely shabby service from start to finish. Given the wrong price on original quote so salesman had to come back again, surveyors made a mistake so they had to come back a second time. The installers turned upon on certain dates but only did half the work promised for that date, left early and left jobs unfinished on several occasions. We had to make so many phone calls to complain about the installation. We had to get them back last year as the French windows and front door were not installed properly and leaked. Our front door is totally warped and still leaking so now having to begin the miserable process of being in touch with these cowboys again to come and sort out the leaks. Windows are absolutely cheap rubbish. Save yourselves the misery and use someone else.
I called Launa Windows Newton Abbot for a quote for a new front door. I spoke to a lady who said the local sales person would call me and make an appointment to come and give me a quote ,about 3 or 4 days later I got a call from the sales person and said he could see me the next day at 12 o'clock I said I could only make 1pm or after he said he would call the one o'clock customer and swop around so he could see me at 1. That's the last I ever heard from him, no call back no follow up nothing, its obvious they don't need any more business .
This is the third house into which we have installed windows and doors from Launa without any issues our next door neighbour also bought windows and doors on our recommendation and once again we cant fault them.
Customer service & quality all first class.
Shocking sales and customer service from this company. When asked for a copy of the T&C;s the estimator merely sends me a camera phone picture of them for which wasn't easy to read. I wanted to be sure of the finish I was going to be contractually promised. I then also received a random email from the estimator quote: Just a note to remember, you guys do not pay the balance of the deal UNTIL YOU ARE HAPPY. Those aspects along with mis-gendering and no apology when corrected led me to complain direct to the head office. I'm concerned people are being led to believe there's such a simple 'get out' (as quoted above) in having to pay your final bill if you're not happy. I'm not stupid and know that would not be the case. Head office verbally agreed that was indeed not the case. The next day the estimator calls (even though I explicitly ask in my complaint that I have nothing more to do with him as the trust had gone) - claims he's done nothing wrong, is damn right rude, offers no apology and then tells me i'm no longer wanted as a customer (!). Shoddy estimating practices and sales reps who are clearly working with their own agenda.
Review (as amended) previously uploaded on 06/11/19:- Do not instruct this Company under any circumstances. They are wholly unprofessional and a complete disgrace. My very poorly and elderly Mother had a conservatory installed at her home which was not of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose in breach of her Consumer Rights. She paid Launa a sum in the region of £40k. The conservatory continually leaked and the doors did not shut properly amongst other things. Conveniently, the former Company who owned Launa Windows (Launahurst) went into liquidation which meant that my Mother had no redress in relation to the defects as against the former Company. Britannia Windows then purchased the Launa name and alleged 'goodwill'. The same Company under the trading name of Launa then charged my Mother a further £7,800.00 to fit a new bespoke roof to the conservatory which was not installed in accordance with the terms of the Contract, is also defective and continually leaked. I instigated a claim on my Mother's behalf after heavy rain penetrated the roof and caused serious damage to items of furniture and other belongings, as she was too unwell to do so. The manner in which both John Liversage and Hayden Rushton have responded to my Mother's complaint is completely unacceptable to the extent that they have fabricated facts in written correspondence and alleged that their incompetent workman have not attended my Mother's property when they have inspected and carried out alleged remedial work on at least 3 occasions. They also allege that I cancelled multiple appointments which is simply not true. I recently discovered that they had replaced a roof panel to the conservatory with a panel that does not match which I am informed was carried out without my Mother's knowledge during a time when she was extremely unwell and no other members of my family were aware or present. They are also refusing to disclose what repair work they have in fact carried out on the roof to date which has clearly failed time and time again. Recent disclosure also shows that the roof was mis-sold and not installed in accordance with the Contract. Much latitude has been given and several very reasonable and arguably generous proposals have been set out in order to resolve the matter amicably with Launa, to no avail. Launa/Britannia Windows ought to be ashamed of themselves. In view of my Mother's ill health, vulnerability and the fact that both Hayden Rushton and John Liversage are well aware that my Mother's legal rights have been breached and are taking proactive steps to evade liability has prompted me to upload this very honest and frank review. I have given Mr Rushton several opportunities to discuss the matter with me over the telephone in an effort to agree a sensible way forward but he has repeatedly refused to do so which is a poor reflection on him as an individual and the Company as a whole. *********************************** Upon posting the above review, I was served a 'cease and desist' letter by Launa/Britannia alleging that my comments are defamatory in nature which is firmly denied. Mr Rushton finally decided that he would telephone me to discuss the matter. I agreed to remove my review in the hope that a sensible approach could be taken by both parties towards an amicable settlement. However, following what I believed to be a positive discussion, all I received was more of the same excuses/denials and no agreement to bear the cost of my Mother's damaged furniture. I am, therefore, re-posting my review on behalf of my Mother. Launa deny that they replaced one of the roof panels as set out in my original review.
Initial contact was easy and friendly, and all three visits, from the initial salesman, the surveyor and the workmen, were conducted in a friendly and businesslike fashion. The final result has been very satisfactory, and as expected.
We are very pleased with our windows and doors. Terry and Bob were really nice lads worked very hard and very professional. We would highly recommend these window fitters and Launa Windows. Thankful Jean and Bob
Excellent from beginning to end well done
