Great quick service, great product
Excellent product and great service
Fast delivery. user friendly website and good product. I bought the spontoon hawk and would definitely recommend and already have recommended to my friends. It also looks very nice on display on my wall mount, but be cautious of the extremely sharp tip if you consider mounting it on the wall, you don’t wanna walk into that lol
Excellent service
Cold Steel Polish Sabre Having read and watched some positive reviews of this exquisite, high, quality Polish sabre, I decided to order it through coldsteel-uk.com website. My experience with the company has been extremely good and I'm delighted with their awesome customer support. I first sent an e-mail to them with a brief pre-sale query and received a prompt reply from a very helpful guy called Tony. The next day (Thursday 29th July 2021), I placed my order and rang the customer service team to speed up the age verification check. Tony was very polite and helpful over the phone and dealt with my query professionally, then assured me that the sabre would be dispatched to me shortly. I received Parcel Force notification with the tracking number the same day and I was able to track my order the following day. I also received regular updates from the seller. However, due to delays from Parcel Force and their staff shortages, the parcel actually took nearly 4 days to be delivered (I received it on 2nd August 2021) but this is not a reflection of ColdSteel UK sales team as they did their very best and dispatched the item the same day to ensure the product is delivered to me ASAP. I should probably also mention that I'm based in Northern Ireland, so it takes a bit longer for parcels to be shipped across the water. In any case, I am very pleased with the service. As regards the packaging, the sabre was extremely well secured. It was enclosed in a cardboard box and wrapped up in bubblewrap and styrofoam. In the outside, the package was secured and sealed with several layers of duct tape, so it took me a while to unwrap the parcel. Thanks to this, the items inside (sabre and scabbard) arrived in perfect condition, no dents, scratches or damagese, etc. The sabre was covered in a thick layer of oil (to preserve it and prevent it from rusting), so I had to remove it before I could test the blade. Now, let's take a brief look at the sabre itself and discuss a bit of the historical background. The sabre is a thing of beauty and a delight to look at. It's very well crafted and has a great balance thanks to having twin fullers (grooves) going along the entire length of the blade. The fullers reduce the sabre's weight and a thick spine ensures blade durability and enough mass to impart notable momentum into the cut. The tip with its good distal taper reduces tip weight for better handling and balance and it also gives the tip a thinner cross-section – ideal for cutting through a target with a minimum of drag. The red scabbard with steel fittings and hanging rings adds to the sabre's exquisite look. As for historical background, the Cold Steel Polish sabre is inspired by examples of early 17th century Polish sabres. It was used both by cavalry and foot soldiers. They were the most iconic weapon used by Polish nobility and the famed winged hussars. Sabre had the reputation for being a formidable weapon with an incredible cutting potential. The disinguishing feature of the sabre is its large blade curvature. Occasionally a thumb ring was added to the crossguard which protected the thumb and made it difficult to release the saber from the hand in the heat of battle (the Cold Steel Polish Sabre is equippped with such ring). It was a typical battle sabre and was also perfect for making cuts on horseback. The crossguard was simple and protected the hussar's hand more effectively. I'll quote here, as it best describes the item I purchased: "Cold Steel's interpretation of this historically significant blade was designed by custom bladesmith Dave Baker and is made from expertly heat treated carbon steel, with a fully sharpened, distal tapered and strongly curved blade, the Polish Sabre is capable of delivering exceptional cuts, while still remaining stiff enough for the thrust." Technical specifications: Period: The Early Modern World (1500 - 1775) Category: Cutlass & Sabres Steel Type: Carbon Steel Specific Steel Type: 1055 Blade Length: 32" (81.3cm) Overall Length: 38" (96.5cm) Weight 40oz (1,134.0 grams) Thickness: 6.3mm (0.25") Handle Length: 6" (15.2cm) Country of manufacture (as shown on the label inside the box): India I should also note that I have tested the sabre and can confirm it's quite sharp (not extremely sharp) and capable of cutting through objects. I tried it on a few bottles and milk cartons filled with water. The sabre was able to cut through these every time, without any issues. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and superb customer service by Cold Steel UK. I would definitely recommend buying from these guys. They're absolute pros! My rating of the sabre and Cold Steel UK customer service is 10 out of 10.
Great steel very happy with the knife I got server's was great very quick, that's so much
Hi everyone, If you haven't used Cold Steel before, I think you'll be pleased once you do. I have one large knife that is used to chop wood, I hit it with a hammer to split it. I have thrown it, hit it, used it to get jacket potatoes out of the fire, gutted a fish, and lots more. The two small neck chain knives are also excellent. These are in my girl friends and my rucksacks for when we go camping. They are brilliant for eating with, cutting food, gutting fish, cutting line, paracord, and cleaning ticks of the dogs back. Value for money, I thought it was expensive too before I owned one. Now, I'll only get cold steel. I have no connection with the company, just telling you the truth on their products. In my frank and honest opinion. I have far too many knives that broke, blunted, and cost more than these ones. I'm now a branded Cold Steel knife user. And I am always open for Cold Steel to send me lots of knives or other things as gifts... just saying... For Christmas from Cold Steel, I'd like a axe, a shovel, hammer, cutlery set, pot, pans etc... Just a suggestion to their product marketing manager... 👍
