Bond Solon is the UK's leading legal training and information company for non-lawyers.
Sue Inker was an amazing trainer and the course content was great. However that’s where it ends for me. An expensive course, awful lack of communication, conflicting dates and empty promises and I have just received my certificate 7 months after completing the BIA course. Colleagues who did the same course (at half the price) elsewhere, got theirs 2 months ago. Don’t be fobbed off by “all unis are the same” which is what I was told again and again. Their small print says 3-6 months but that’s not the case. Won’t be recommending to colleagues or returning for any other courses there. Teeside university who provide the marking and certification are just as poor in all aspects.
BIA course delivered on 6th-9th December 2022 by a very good lecturer. But I am giving it one star because 6 months after the course, we still haven't received any results or feedback about our assessments. Imagine if you have to resubmit them it could be 2 years or more before you are done. In addition, there is no clear communication about when the results will come out, imagine having to wait this long for a certificate. Appalling!
I signed up for the BIA course which is to progress practice in require, this training and certificate is a requirement in order to complete new role. Signed up easily and attended 6th-10th dec 2022 no Issues. Assignments submitted both January and February. I have done all the hard work but between this provider and Teeside University there has been no marking of assignments or feedback . This was voiced to Bond Solon twice before they responded explaining the delay was due to a backlog I questioned why they continue to put courses on when there is a delay- no reply I questioned why they would not inform people prior to course being on- no reply I asked length of time I was advised they usually do this within 3 months but will be 6 months at latest By 6 months no further outcome I have proceeded with a formal complaint to the university and request for my money back as both cannot seem to provide me with a sufficient service Even if the complaint essays came back today i might not have passed and need to resubmit which could mean i would be doing this all again I feel stranded with it all as its preventing me from undertaking further work My advice , don’t undertake this course due to existing backlog they don’t tell you about they dont seem to care
The training has been interactive and educative for me. My knowledge of record keeping has improved.
Tony was hugely knowledgeable and shared so much of his wisdom, hints & tips. I particularly enjoyed the Web Searching techniques segment and social media ones, I learned so much! If I had to make a suggestion for any improvement it would be to try and add a little more interaction, maybe scenarios to investigate ourselves using the techniques explained to us in the course. Thank you :)
Discussions between Experts course you attended on 23/03/2023 An outstanding course, I feel privileged to have attended this course, I am motivated and excited to continue learning more. I look forward to applying what I leant for my future discussions with Experts.
Great presentation by our trainer on the discolsure course. The example were relevant to our day to day job and I've learnt a lot. Very engaging.
I completed the coroner's court witness skills training with Katie Viggers and it was really interesting and informative, Katie was happy to answer all our questions and took time to listen to everyone although the role play at the end was a bit scary. I didn't know what to expect but I have finished the course well informed
They don't reply to any email once they have taken your money.
Sessions was interactive and the teacher very friendly. Promoted group discussion
This is a really good course that offers excellent and useful information, tools and links to navigate and use the Open source internet for investigations. Tony is a really good and lively teach as well. :o) Thank you
Hostile Situations The course giver Mr Travel Henry is professional in his delivery of the training and provided good examples of situations for discussion. The only let down was that we lost computer connection on a couple of occasions, but this I believe was beyond control. Overall the training was informative and enjoyable. Thankyou.
Mr. Nick Deal is wonderful in presenting thought-provoking ideas. In the lecture, I can't stop thinking in the way the lecture is guiding us. Mr. Deal is just like a tour guide who attempts to take us to a journey of experience by offering insights into expert witnesses and courtroom experiences. Therefore, I have learned a lot from the lecture.
Nick used his vast experience as a Barrister to very good effect. I thought the training in Courtroom skills was well structured and provided both theoretical and practical support. I would recommend it.
Excellent service and training provided. Thank you.
We used Bond Solon to deliver log keeping training. Our trainer - Karen Jones - knew her subject very well, and she kept everyone engaged throughout the day. Everyone found the course useful, and it's given us some impetus to improve our current arrangements. The supporting materials were also very helpful.
Jean-Marie was very pleasant, helpful and pedagogical. The duties of a witness to assist the court came very well across. The practical exercise was very helpful and made me feel better prepared for the trial.
Caroline Mouriquand delivered an excellent introduction to French employment law and I was gripped from start to finish. No mean achievement with such an academic subject. The accompanying document is so helpful and is a great relief as I was furiously scribbling notes and know I missed loads as there was such a lot to take in. I look forward to studying the document at my leisure. The slides which were helpfully provided will be an excellent aide memoire.I would not hesitate to recommend this course and Caroline Mouriqand’s expertise to others. I am also looking into other course run by Bond.
Hostile situation training with John - good course, John has a good background and depth to put the key issues across. He also understands this topic from our organisations perspective
I have done both Witness Familiarisation and Cross Examination and i found it extremely useful. I initially thought three hours each session would be too much but it is definitely worth investing the time, particularly if the trial you are facing is significant enough to invest some money in preparation
