The company was established by John Jones, who is the current MD who, with his wife Doreen and son Jeremy bringing their own expertise to the team. Then, to enable John to semi-retire in December 2019 his daughter, Dee joined the team as Finance Director to help oversee the day-to-day running of the company as well as manage the accounts, payroll, quotations and managerial duties. Out of its workshop based in Wimbish, near Saffron Walden, Bluerun provides a manufacturing service of the highest quality. “Bluerun designed a beautiful bespoke replacement for an external door at our listed house. Where we are unique is that we discuss any finer details with the client to ensure we get it to their requirements. Most pieces have to be hand finished using hand tools, to make sure it's a quality finished product. We also have an in-house spray booth, and can obtain colour matched paint, so if a client needs something in a sprayed finish, we have that capability. We don’t have brochures or even a showroom as everything is made to measure. If we've made it, then it's been ordered by a client. Our website has a lot of examples of our previous work. And, of course our portfolio of previous work does embellish the sheer artistry, creativity and skill of each experienced and highly qualified bench joiner machinist that is part of the Bluerun team. For over 30-years Bluerun has consistently grown as a business, and one particular moment that was pivotal in the company’s life came in 2020. Our company logo and corporate image was only created in 2020, and we feel this has brought us a little more up to date as we now have a recognisable branding that people can associate with a professional company. Fabulous new bespoke hardwood windows fitted for my listed home.
Bluerun was able to interpret out requirements and then present them in a very useful drawing prior to production and also offered to produce samples of several different stains for us to choose from. A good job as when seen on a piece of timber our original colour was totally wrong and would have been a disastrous choice. From initial meeting until final installation brilliant to work with.
On the one occasion we phoned Bluerun they were polite, extremely helpful and friendly. We are satisfied with the product.

Bluerun have made 6 oak doors for us within the last 12 months. These include exterior and interior doors; all are glazed, including 2 with coloured glass and have been made to our own adaptations of designs. The workmanship and customer service are really excellent and we could not be more delighted with the finished products.
Bluerun turned around an order for sprayed white window boards very quickly and delivered promptly. The communications with them were excellent as they ensured that the specs were accurate. The boards themselves look great in place.

Blue Run were very helpful in listening to my urgent request for a new gate, in following exactly the images and non-standard measurements I had provided and in completing the job within 3 working days of my submitting my requirements. The joiner made a site visit early on the second working day to check all the details before constructing the gate the same day. He came to fit the completed gate the following morning, taking great care and time in making last-minute adjustments and adaptations necessary to fulfil my needs. Both he and the Finance Director were extremely friendly and helpful from beginning to completion. A great job well done!
Bluerun Ltd were very patient while we obtained listed buildings and then planning permission after their initial detailed measurments and diagrams. The four custom built double-glazed panes for a kitchen window were then ordered and fitted efficiently into existing frame with minimum disruption. All work was much appreciated by us.
