BAIT & SWITCH – AVOID VALIANT FINANCE Consultant: Harry Ward If you value your time, money, and sanity, steer clear of Valiant Finance. My experience was a textbook case of misleading promises, endless delays, and last-minute pressure tactics. After constant follow-ups from Valiant over a year after my initial enquiry, I decided to give them a shot when I found a vehicle. Here’s how it played out: False Promises on Interest Rates: I was pre-approved by Commonwealth Bank for 17.45% but was told by Valiant they could do 14.75% with no exit fees. That later changed to "60% off exit fees." Fine, still sounded better. Lack of Transparency: I repeatedly asked for a breakdown of costs, including total interest payable. Their response? "We can't provide that until after you sign the contract." Huge red flag. Continued cautiously... Seller Inconvenienced: The seller had to jump through hoops, frustrating but they had to do their checks in all fairness in this department. The Bait & Switch: When the final contract arrived, the interest rate had mysteriously jumped to 18.75%, upfront fees had ballooned to $3,000+, and they still wouldn’t disclose total interest payable over the term of the loan. Last-Minute Pressure Tactics: When I questioned the 4% increase, I was fed some excuse about a 2% "holding fee" and told if the consultant "stuck his neck out," he might be able to remove 2%... which still didn't add up. 14.75% + 2% does not equal 18.75% At this point, failure in Grade 1 maths by a finance company was the final straw. I saw through the game and walked away. Weeks wasted, the seller frustrated, and I was left shaking my head at the sheer dishonesty. Thankfully, I secured my vehicle elsewhere yesterday. My advice? The numbers kept changing, the conditions kept shifting, and worst of all, despite repeatedly telling Harry that I wanted full transparency, I was met with nothing but excuses and misinformation. Now, off to other review platforms to make others aware of my experience. Unfortunately, finance companies like this still exist.

Harry was my fella and did a real good job He was always easy to get hold of when I had questions or was getting back in phone reception and replying to emails that were send during the day, my finance was a long one to get completed the trailers were very slow to be built. Approximately 420 days we worked on it. Well done Harry I will definitely be looking you up for the next big purchase 👍
