34-40 Great Cumberland Place, W1H 7TW, London, GB
Upon arrival you feel very welcome. Their service level is very high, genuine and serieus with a smile. They are very helpfull and friendly. The room is good, convenient and has all the extra's you need. Location superb!
Already shared my real good feelings for staying at this hotel with many friends and recommend it to them as real choice to stay in London
I work close by to this hotel and have stayed at many others in the vicinity. I chose to say here as I had not done so before and it had an acceptable rate for the night I wanted as I had an event after work that day My first impression was that the room was small but clean and therefore perfect adequate for my needs. Returning to the hotel late at night after my event, I had a very poor nights sleep, due to a noisy window banging due to the wind outside and not being able to locate a switch to turn off three spotlights above the bed, despite trying every single switch in the room. (neither of these things was I prepared to contact reception about at 230am). The location is handy but I don't think I will be rushing to stay again for me next hotel stay in the area as there are many other choices.
When booked I was very excited as I was given numerous custom options to choose from which would cater my stay towards my taste. However when I arrived a doorman opened the door & everything was looking nice I was then informed that I was actually booked into the hotel across the road & the receptionist had a dismissive attitude which was off-putting. The hotel across was perfectly fine but seemed like the hotel for rejects in comparison, none of this was made clear when booking. When we were placed in our room none of my custom options had been adhered to which was a further disappointment. The stay was fine & there are some nice touches such as the electronic do not disturb sign & cleaning notice & complimentary fruit & water. Overall it was just an average stay.
A two day theatre and shopping birthday treat. Amazing hotel great location easy to find. Expectional staff who all work very hard and insure your stay is one to remember, hotel is very clean rooms amazing everything you could need will definitely return.
Good location, friendly and helpful staff, small clean room. Fresh fruit as compliment to each guest and bottle of wine as compliment for birthday. Good impression and thanks.
My stay at the hotel the last time I visited was quite peacefulj
A truly lovely hotel in a great area of London. Single room small but well appointed. service exemplary and breakfast excellent. Can't fault it!
Contemporary hotel with poor quality furniture and finishings.Shower had black moulding all around with shower head not working and hair still present from previous guests . Old windows that are not sound or air proof. Hotel just lacked cosy ness ! Staff where helpful with good service.
This was the second time I stayed at The Montcalm and I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The staff were extremely attentive and polite. I immediately felt at ease with their warm and welcoming approach. The room (I stayed in a club double) was air-conditioned and had all the luxuries you would expect if you're a guest who likes to be pampered whilst away from home in one of the greatest cities in the world. The hotel is just a short walk from Marble Arch tube in the heart of the city. One last thing I should mention is the food served up at breakfast and dinner..........absolutely superb! I'll definitely be going back there...........my highest recommendation.
Poor website that then adds tax to your bill. So a room for 158 becomes 190- I'm still staying in the hotel but you can bet good old trip advisor will be told. Check out profile superally2008 last review 258 people read in two days! Taxes!
I firstly booked on-line and received a reservation confirmation and then when I called up to extend the booking the person I spoke to could not find the booking reference on the system. I am still waiting for a confirmation email to confirm extension of the booking..... Way more time consuming than it should be!
Fantastic staff and rooms. Overall service is faultless. Only niggle this time was that a new nightclub has opened across the street...lots of noise from midnight to 2-3am.
stayed the last two weekends at the hotel. first time was to celebrate my partners birthday. pleasantly surprised on check in to find out we had been upgraded to a duplex suite, which was simply stunning. it was so good that we did not want to leave. returned for sunday and monday night of bank holiday weekend and this time we were in city suites across road. not the same standard as the duplex in the main hotel, but still wonderfully comfortable and homely and the attention to detail by staff on both stays has been superb. there is something very pleasing about a hotel that all the staff take the time to wish you a good day/evening whenever you pass them. good manners cost nothing and this hotel has it abundance. just a few little niggles about our most recent stay, the towels in the bathroom looked a bit tired and bedraggled and one of them had a hole in it. the turn down service did not happen on our second night of the stay and they charged me for a newspaper that i did not request. but this is just small details compared to the overall experience. if and when am able to do so again I shall be returning to this hotel.
Wonderful central location! Beautiful hotel and superb service, very friendly and helpful staff.
The room was very nice, bit small, but that is usual for London. Loved the spa, apples. The stuff was good. One advise, be acurate with preauthorised summs for booking. Make sure they are unblocked. Other that that if you are looking for silent place, that is the one. Who wants busy and fun -stay away, that is not your place.
Your hotel is great and is a welcome respite after a long day in the office, however your online reservation system is not great and riddled with glitches. Selecting a date takes forever (if it doesn't crash halfway). Once I was booked into the wrong hotel despite selecting London City Suites (which is the only hotel I ever pick) and once it booked the room before I even got to put the credit card details in. Also, your reservation confirmation page could be clearer providing the hotel name, address details, in a more prominent fashion.
Although the staff are pleasant and helpful, the building is interesting, and the location.good for City-related work, I'm not going back to this hotel for two reasons. first, it advertises a king bed but actually provides two single beds, with separate mattresses, pushed together and linked with a standard mattress cover; as a result, you can't sleep in middle of the bed but on one or other of the (uncomfortably soft) mattresses. They might as well Just give you a single bed. Scond, my room (104) overlooked some kind of bar and was very noisy until at least 2pm, making it (along with the uncomfortable bed) impossible to sleep before then. At 250 pound a night with taxes this isn't acceptable to me.
The Montcalm at London City Brewery provides an extremely high-level of service and comfort. A tribute to the staff and management on coordinating the experience so well. I have witnessed the development at the Montcalm since it was opened and I am impressed with the improvements; it now ranks as one of my favorite hotels in the world.
Great staff with great attitude! Attention to detail was evident. Hope this level of service lasts!
