This was such an easy interaction. Box arrived promptly and included the interim knife I had ordered. Packaging was secure and turnaround to have my 3 knives sharpened and returned was prompt! My global knives had many nicks. All gone and sharpened like new!

Used to be able too have my knives sharpened locally for £3 per knife but person now retired. Found this service while trying to find another local service (no luck). Found it very easy to use and very pleased with my knives. One star lost due to price - expensive for retired me but better than trying to use blunt knives!

WoW! What a brilliant service. From start to finish Blade and Butler courier out a package that you can safely put your knives in, you then send them back via courier, they sharpen them (unbelievably) and then they courier them back to you... all within a week. AND WoW - I have new knives again - I'm soooo pleased, i hadn't quite realised how bad my knives were and to be honest - they weren't expensive originally, maybe £50 was my most expensive one. I really am very surprised and would definitely recommend to anyone who has any reservations. Absolutely brilliant - am rummaging through my drawers to see if I have any others now. Thanks a bunch from one happy customer. 😃

Great system. Ordered 5 knife package, box arrived a few days later and was returned promptly. I had 2 knives which had a big chip and I thought I would have to throw them away. No need to worry, all knives returned very sharp and no chips in sight.

Sent off 7 knives which were returned to me within a reasonable period in a nice and sharp condition and for a very reasonable price. All in all, very happy!

My Global knives that I have had for 20 years were in need of a good sharpen. On searching for a knife sharpening service, Blade and Butler seemed to have good reviews and offer a slick service. In short, they do exactly what they say! The service is easy and very professional. The packaging for the knives arrived within a day or two. I used Evri delivery service which took a while (which is noted on Blade and Butler website) but when the knives came back, they were like new. Fantastic service, great value and I will definitely be using their service in the future.

I’ve given it a 3, simply because as the website stated, they make old knifes feel sharp again, so I sent off my best chef knifes and even included one which was completely round off at the bottom. They came back and I noticed they had taken a decent amount of the knifes blade material off to some knifes which didn’t really need. They had more orless just made an edge so wasn’t verry sharp, luckily I have a wetstone and have experience in sharpening knifes so all in all, don’t send them off to get sharp, send them off to blade and butler to get given a good edge on your knife however lose alot of knife. But they because easier to sharpen yourself

Bought the three knife package and now my three favourite knives are probably sharper than when new. Second sharpening for these knives and find no fault with physical appearance. Customer service was prompt and helpful when I had an email query. Will use again and would recommend.

Edit: increased to four stars following company's response to point about steel being removed. Original: The good: well, the knives came back sharp. And that was the primary purpose of using the service, and I can't complain about that. So that's good. The not so good: two things - (1) a lot of steel was taken off the knives. I mean a lot. Looking at the reviews here, other people have made the same comment. Maybe this is buried somewhere on their website, but it's not on the main 'how it works' section of their website. (2) - the 'how it works' section of the website also doesn't mention how the default, cheaper shipping option only insures your knives for £20. I only really clocked this after I had bought the service and had a bit of stress wondering if pricey Japanese knives would actually make it back to me.

I would certainly not use this company again. Bought my daughter a 3 knife sharpening as a gift. When the knives were returned the tips of 2 knives had been removed. The knives were sharp but had lost the knife tip which you use for scoring meat and vegetables. The company’s response has been very poor and extremely unhelpful. They have tried to argue that the state of the knives is acceptable and have not offered to either rectify the problem or replace them. My daughter is left with the knives in a damaged state. All in all would not use them! I don’t usually leave reviews just wanted to warn others.

Had seven knives of all different ages, lengths and thickness, sharpened March 24. Excellent service from start to finish, and they are now probably sharper than when new! Cannot fault this service and thank you!

Knife carrier arrived quickly after order with full instructions for return to sharpener. Knives were back with me expertly sharpened within a week. Will definitely use this service again although price would only justify on top knives

At last I have my knives sharp. I’ve had some good quality knives languishing in my kitchen draws for years, I’ve put them on oil stones and wet stones many times and have never been able to get a good edge on them, now I have them sharp and ready to use with confidence. Blade and Butler’s service is easy to use and the knives get returned in a few days, couldn’t be better.

Got 10 knives sharpened and I am really impressed. Sharpener to better than new, chips removed and all sent back within a few days. Hassle free and top results! I'll be using Blade and Butler again, for sure!
